【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforaluminumdiffusionofmetalsbythepackcementationmethod.Packdiffusionemploysthechemicalvapordepositionofametalwhichissubsequentlydiffusedintothesurfaceofasubstrateathightemperature.Thematerialtobecoated(substrate)isimmersedorsuspendedinapowdercontainingaluminum(source),ahalidesalt(activator),andaninertdiluentsuchasalumina(filler).Whenthemixtureisheated,theactivatorreactstoproduceanatmosphereofaluminumhalideswhichtransfersaluminumtothesubstrateforsubsequentdiffusion.Thealuminum-richsurfaceenhancescorrosion,thermalstability,andwear-resistantproperties.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
