【摘要】:Muchofthecushionedresilientflooringinusetodayisinhouseholdkitchens.Kitchenflooringisfrequentlysubjectedtothehazardofdroppedtablewareandcuttingknives,thatcanpuncturethewearlayerofcushionedresilientflooring.Foodandsoilthatbecomeembeddedinthesepuncturesoftencannotberemovedbyordinarymaintenance,resultinginunsightlymarks.Moisture,grease,oroilsthatpenetratetothecushionlayercanbewickedintothefoamandcausepermanentdiscoloration.Ultimately,theservicelifeofthematerialisshortened.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingtheresistanceofcushionedresilientfloorcoveringstopuncturesfromdroppedpointedobjectssuchasdinnerforks.1.2Thistestmethodemploysa35-gcylindricaldartwithaflat,small-diametertipthatisdroppedontoaspecimenofflooring.Thedartrepresentstheweightofatypicalforkandthetipproducesasimilarpuncturetothosewhichresultfromdroppedforks.1.3Flooringwiththickwearlayersmaynotpunctureundereventhemostseveredrop.Althoughdatacanbeobtainedbyincreasingthedropheightortheweightofthedart,valuesofthismagnitudehavenopracticalapplication.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityofwhoeverusesthisstandardtoconsultandestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityandregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionstatementsee8.2.
